If I were a Tree

If I were a Tree
If I were a tree I will help people by giving them shade, help birds to make nests in my branches, help animals to eat my leaves. One day a small little boy came and sat under me. He was looking very sad and lonely. I asked him why are you so sad’’? He said I have no friends to play with me’’. I said come and swing on my branches. From that day we became friends. Years rolled by, at last one day my friend came. He was looking very young and sad also. I asked the reason. He told me that he love a girl and want to marry her but he has no home. I said don’t upset yourself cut my branches and construct a house of wood’’. Soon the house was built and they lived happily ever after.

A house on fire

A house on fire
It was a sultry afternoon. I nearly fell asleep. Suddenly I heard loud t cries. I dragged myself to the balcony. I was quite afraid to see that the building was on fire and people were falling down from the building. I went to call the fire brigade but the fire brigade had already come. It took two hours to wash up all the fire. Forty were dead and hundreds were injured. People from nearby buildings were running to help the injured. Ambulance were called. I was quite horrifying to see that scene. It was like a dreadful nightmare. I really wish that this nightmare will not come in life.

A poem on mother

A poem on mother
Mother is great,
Mother is so nice,
Her heart is pure as black and white,
She keeps her sorrows and helps each other,
We the children of mother waste time in playing with each other,
She is made by our God for making our future,
She makes us laugh like our joker,
She is like the heavens and God, She is a real mother,
Those children who are not with mother are crying and waiting for their mother to come,
She scolds us but not hate us,
She thinks for her own children always forgiving them,
She makes us comfortable when we are uncomfortable,
She listens to our sorrows and makes us feel happy,
When we are lonely she sits besides us and makes us read books and tells us stories,
How lucky we are to have a mother who is generous, pretty and beautiful,
Children have no words to express their feelings for mother,
It is said A friend in need is a friend indeed But now I say a mother in need is a mother indeed

Interaction with Grandfather

Interaction with Grandfather
This summer vacation I visited my   grandparents home in Allahbad. Both of them are there in late seventies. For my generation gap assignment  I first interview my grandfather, Shekhar Joshi. He was born in a small Himalayan village in Almora,Uttarakhand. It was very insightful journey about his childhood and life. For him the biggest generation gap is of use of English as language for communication. In his childhood days the language for communication was his native language Kumaoni. Granpa left home at very early age after the death of his mother. He completed my schooling in Ajmer,Rajasthan. In his school days
half pant and shirt was the regular uniform. It was very interesting to know that there were no transport for commuting to school. Grandpa use to walk 3 km daily to reach his school. They did not have furniture like we have instead there classes were held under the tree and they sat on the floor. Grandpa nursery school was a very small one located at Darmian in Almora,Uttarakhand Whereas his primary and secondary school was in a modest building in Kekdi,Ajmer,Rajasthan. He became nostalgic while talking about his school days.

Interaction with Grandmother

It was very different experience while interviewing my Grandmother,Chandrakala Joshi. She was born in Kekdi,Ajmer, Rajasthan. She did her masters in Economics and taught for few years. For my Grandma generation gap is very much in living. She told me that in her childhood days there were no telivisions , no computers, nor the internet facility. It was only radio which educated us about so many things. Life was very simple and ordinary. In grandmother’s days school were major learning centers. The school ambience was very good. They use to take part in debates and other co-curricular activities. Their school libraries were very rich. She never felt any discrimination as a girl child.

Trip to Bhiwadi

Trip to Bhiwadi

When my summer holidays began my mother and father decided that I could spend few days of my holidays at my aunt's( mausi) place and enjoy with my brother . I was so happy and excited. I packed my bag and early in the morning enjoying the cool breeze we got into our car and my parents left me there. We had  lot of fun. My brother,Ritwik was earlier living in Rewari but now he has shifted to Bhiwadi. We watched T.V.,we played games,we went to Haldiram for dinner,Mc Donalds for lunch, enjoyed shopping at Reliance Mart and did lot of exciting activities. .My Aunt brought for me different types of chocolates and a beautiful dress.Sometimes my brother and I fought over the programmes and serials of television.Along with other activities we devoted some hours to our homework ,sometimes he got angry with me that why have I given him so much work to do. We both love swimming, so in the evening we both went to swimming pool and swam for two hours. One day my brother requested my aunt that he wants to see his old house in Rewari. There was a big mall in Rewari, the BMG mall.Everything was decided that in the mall we will do some shopping, children will play games and we will have lunch there only. The next day me,my brother,my aunt,my uncle,my uncle's friend.his wife and their two daughters adjusted ourselves in one car and we went  to  Rewari. Ritwik and I knew that there was a ghost house in BMG mall.We asked  our elders that if they could take us to the ghost house. We three children were very happy but Bhavya  was unhappy because she was only three years old and children below four are not allowed as it could make them afraid and then they will cry. When we reached the mall the aunts said that they want to go to shopping. So my uncle,my uncle's friend.his one daughter,me and my brother were ready to go inside the ghost house. My brother and my uncle's friend daughter study in third class. I was feeling that they could also get afraid. But they were too adamant to go.When we were taking the tickets we were not at all afraid but when the door opened we felt a little afraid because we could not find our way  as it was completely dark. The different kind of horrifying  sounds made us panicky and we felt like running away .I tried to gather all my confidence  for the adventure I was going to confront with. All the adventure novels that I have been reading;Famous Five,Secret Seven,Nancy Drews came live into my mind.

We could see the faces of ghost, their skeleton and their bodies. It was too horrible to see all that.A witch said ''Girl give me your leg. I want to eat it''.First I was too afraid but then I thought logically that it could not be a real wit ch.So I replied''First you give me''.Then there was no answer. I thought that the witch was afraid of me.There was suddden lightening and thunder sound. We thought that It was fire so we started shouting 'Fire Fire'. Our uncles told us that It was only lightening done by a man with two stones. When we heard this we were quite relieved. At every step we kept shouting, that gave us satisfaction from the scary atmosphere inside. I was only praying when this will finish and I will be out of the ghost house.sometime later we reached the staircases .When I put my leg on It somebody said Ouch!!!. It was the leg of a ghost. When we got out from there I told everyone I would Never Go To A Ghost House Again!!.It was an experience that I would never ever forget in my life.Though I want to experience It again but I am too afraid to go.
